In the barbershop, there are a lot of rules that a barber must abide by to insure the safety of the clients and themselves. There are also a lot of products and items they must have in order to clean the clients skin whenever something goes wrong like a cut or infectious disease present. Before every cut, the barber should do a scalp analysis to make sure that there is nothing in the head like wingworm or any easy transmitted diseases, and to make sure they can do the cut . If there is something in the head and your not sure what it it, do not perform the cut and refer that client to a professional hair and scalp analysis. Another rule is, after every cut, the barber must thoroughly clean all objects used in the previous service to insure that no diseases are passed on to client to client. Razors on the other hand do not have to be disinfected or disinfected because the barber should always have removable blades. Each service should have a new blade. Continuing to use the same razor on every client can lead to you giving someone razor bumps or even HIV, especially if you nick them. Back in older time, barbers use to use styptic pens in order to stop the bleeding when a client is nicked. This is not allowed now because the pen they used cannot be disinfected or sanitized. Now barbers are required to use styptic powder, which comes in a little tube and is applied with the finger; gloves must be worn. Also, barbers must immense there combs and scissors in barbicide to disinfect them from all germs. The clippers must be sprayed with barbicide in the can though. Every client must wear a cap in order to protect them from getting anything on their skin and clothes.
